Big Bad Voodoo Daddy swingin’ and singin’ at Clay Center Thursday
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy swings into Charleston Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. show at the Clay Center. Speaking in advance of the show in an interview with gazz last week, horn player Glen Marhevka said the band members, who first got together in 1989, always played the music they loved –– 1940s and ‘50s swing –– even when it wasn’t the cool thing to do. “We all loved the same kind of music,” he said. “We didn’t care if [it] was popular.” If it’s your kind of music, too, be sure to check out the show. Tickets are $18.50, $28.50 and $38.50. Call 304-561-3570 or visit www.theclaycenter.org.
