Aqua Zumba

Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission will sponsor Aqua Zumba classes from 7:15 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and June 11, 18 and 25 and July 2, 23 and 30 at the Waves of Fun Waterpark. The fee is $7 per class. Call 304-562-2355 to register.

DAR meeting

Anne Bailey Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will have its business meeting at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at the Fifth Quarter in Charleston. The chapter will join with the William Morris Chapter at noon for the program. The speaker will be Robin Grey, who will discuss the Savage House and its renovations.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby

West Virginians concerned about carbon in the atmosphere are invited to join the monthly Citizens’ Climate Lobby meetings on the first Saturday of every month (there will not be a first-Saturday meeting in July). The next meeting will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1600 Kanawha Blvd. E. Enter from the parking lot from Elizabeth Street and enter the building under the canopy. Learn how to successfully lobby government representatives. This month’s speaker is Anthony Leiserowitz of the Yale Project on Climate Change Communication. Sissonville council

Greater Sissonville Development Council will meet at 5 p.m. Monday at the Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department station on Call Road (this is a new meeting location). Anyone with agenda items or comments may contact Tom Crouser at 304-541-3714 or tom@crouser.com.

Rand Community Center

Rand Community Center will open the Rand Thrift Store and Free Clothing Room from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at 5701 Church Drive, Rand. The center accepts donations of clothing or items they can sell in the store. Call 304-925-9200. The center also will sponsor a hot dog sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will also be selling hot bologna, barbecues, soft drinks and homemade desserts. Eat-in or carry-out is available.
