Justice hopes to make Classic more affordable

By Doug Smock, Staff writer

BRIEFLY: Hole-in-one giveaways are back on the 18th hole. Starting with the pro-am tournament on Wednesday, July 2, fans in the bleachers and the lawn area will win $100 should a player sink a hole-in-one. After the first such ace, the prizes raises to $500 for another, and $1,000 for a third. There has yet to be a hole-in-one in the Classic at No. 18, listed at 175 yards. Luke List owns the only ace in Classic history, at the longer eighth hole during the final round. ... Also new to the Classic is the inaugural West Virginia Fellowship of Christian Athletes 5K run, which will wind the course and adjacent resort grounds. To register, visit www.tristateracer.com.
