Two plead guilty in Bridgeport pain clinic case

By The Associated Press

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Two more defendants have pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an investigation of a Bridgeport pain clinic.

Court documents show that Andrea Nicole Shepard, 23, of Fairmont, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting use of a phone to distribute buprenorphine. Shane Brantley, of Sutton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to use another person’s Drug Enforcement Administration registration number.

Shepard and Brantley entered their pleas Monday in U.S. District Court in Clarksburg. They are among six people charged in the case.

The clinic’s doctor, Dr. Edita Milan, is scheduled for trial later this year on charges of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.

Three other defendants previously pleaded guilty.
