Tate Stevens at the Putnam County Fair

DAVID ABBOTT photo

Country artist and 2012 “X Factor” winner Tate Stevens is this weekend’s headliner at the Putnam County Fair, which runs Saturday through July 19 at the fairgrounds in Eleanor. Last year, Stevens, who performs at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, was in West Virginia for another fair — the West Virginia State Fair. Besides live music, the Putnam County Fair also has rides, farm exhibitions, an aerial wire show, truck and tractor pulls, chainsaw carving demonstrations, a demolition derby and more. Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. on weekdays. Admission, which includes all carnival rides and concerts, is $8 for ages 5 and up and free for children younger than that. For Family Day on Sunday, admission is only $5. Season tickets, which must be purchased on or before opening day and cover all eight days, are $30. For more information or a detailed daily schedule, visit www.putnamcountyfairwv.com.
