Theda Lewis Baldwin

Theda Lewis Baldwin, 94, of Hurricane, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 12, 2014.

Theda was a homemaker, raising four beautiful children. She was also very active in her church, Culloden Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was also a 1938 graduate of Charleston High School. Theda was raised in Charleston but spent most of her life as a resident of Hurricane.

Theda was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Arnold Ray Baldwin; parents, Lightburn and Marinda Lewis; sisters, Cloda Martin, Delphia Holcomb and Mary Cantley; son-in-law, Charles Joseph Huff; and grandson, Johnny Fallon.

She is survived by daughters, Zinda Huff of Hurricane and Marinda Fallon (John) of Toms River, N.J.; sons, Arnold Ray Baldwin II (Debra) of Hurricane and Timothy Baldwin (Angela) of Milton; grandchildren, Charles Joseph II, Matthew Scott Huff (Mary) of Scott Depot, David Anthony Baldwin (Melissa) of Hurricane, Jennifer Baldwin of Conway, S.C., and Kevin Ray Baldwin of Hurricane; step-grandchildren, Olivia Edwards (Daniel) of Winfield, Sarah Young (Justin) of Hurricane, Spencer Webb of Scott Depot and Dylan Webb of Scott Depot; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Huff, Andrew Huff, Jacob Huff, Zoie Carter, Gemma Youmans, Alex Fallon, Robbie Fallon, Channing Baldwin and Reid Baldwin; step-great-grandchildren, Aurora Edwards, Brantley Young and Elliott Edwards; and a special neice, Emmadean Smithers.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, with Pastor Bob Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Theda was a resident of Genesis Putnam for 10 years. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Genesis Putnam for their kindness and caring.
