Man arrested in Clay County robbery
A man was arrested Wednesday in the beating of a 71-year-old man with a baseball bat during a robbery in Clay County last week, state police said.
Brenin Seth Bird, 27, is charged with robbery, grand larceny, assault during the commission of a felony and malicious wounding, according to a Central Regional Jail official.
William B. Vineyard was leaving Jesse Sez Restaurant/Bar in Maysel early on July 17 when he was attacked with a baseball bat and robbed of a large sum of money.
Bird was being held at Central Regional Jail on $100,000 bond Wednesday.
Media outlets reported another man was also arrested for his involvement, but State Police Spokesman Lt. Michael Baylous couldn’t confirm that on Wednesday night.
