Names in the games: Marshall rally, Wiggins, Saints picnic
Tickets on sale for MU rally in Charleston
Tickets are for sale for Marshall University’s “Paint the Capital City Green” pep rally next month.
The 17th edition of the event is scheduled for Aug. 21 in Charleston. The Thundering Herd event will include a tailgate spread, an appearance by mascot “Marco,” cheerleaders and members of the Marshall University Marching Thunder.
Individual tickets are $60 and available through Aug. 15. Marshall says tickets will not be sold at the door.

Cavaliers sign rookie Andrew Wiggins
The Cavaliers have signed No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins, a contract that prevents him from being traded for 30 days.
Wiggins has been linked to a possible blockbuster trade with Minnesota for All-Star forward Kevin Love. But any deal now involving Wiggins can’t be finalized for at least 30 days.
The Cavs had been reluctant to include Wiggins in a package for Love, but the team has softened its stance and may be willing to part with the former Kansas standout. Cleveland is interested in bringing in Love to form a “Big 3” with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. That trio would make the Cavs an overwhelming favorite in the Eastern Conference.
Limited number of Saints picnic tickets
A limited number of tickets are available for Saturday’s “Picnic With the Saints” at the New Orleans Saints practice facility at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs.
Tickets for the event, which runs from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, are $10 and available at Greenbrier.com/picnic. Activities will include meet and greets, autograph and photograph opportunities with Saints players and coaches as well as picnic food. Tickets for the event are limited and sales will be stopped once 5,000 have been sold.
