Seider set to join older brother in Morgantown

Glades Central (Fla.) offensive lineman Jah’Shaun Seider had been working towards a West Virginia offer for a long time, and made a last-minute decision to come to Morgantown this past weekend in an attempt to earn one before the end of the summer.

“[WVU offensive line] coach [Ron] Crook talked to me before [the camp] and he said he felt real good about the offer and he was going to let me know,” said the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder. “They told me I needed to get to the camp and let coach [Dana] Holgorsen see me, so that’s what I did.”

After a strong performance at the camp on Saturday, Seider received the good news — and his recruitment ended just like that.

“I went to the weight room and the recruiting coordinator — coach [Ryan] Dorchester — came in and pulled me over to the side to talk to coach Crook,” recalled Seider. “He said they were ready to pull the trigger and offer me.

“I said, ‘It’s over now, coach. I’m all the way in. I’m committed.’ ”

While all the coaches were happy with the news, one member of the coaching staff took particular joy in the decision — running backs coach JaJuan Seider, Jah’Shaun’s older brother.

“He was ecstatic,” said the younger Seider. “Now he’s going to be around me more — all the time while I’m here. He’s proud of me because I did it on my own, too. I didn’t get any help.”

Seider is currently rated as a three-star, 82-rated offensive tackle by 247Sports, but he says he will begin at the guard position.

“Coach Crook said they are going to start me off on the interior and see where it goes from there,” said Seider. “But they could move me out [to tackle], so he told me to be ready.”

Seider chose West Virginia over offers from LSU, Mississippi, Illinois and more. He gives the Mountaineers fifteen commitments, and moves them to 23rd in the 247Sports team rankings.
