Kanawha County Public Library board of directors will meet at 4 p.m. Monday in the meeting room at the St. Albans Branch Library, 602 Fourth St., St. Albans. Following that, library patrons will present their personal library stories and talk about why the library is important to them. After the presentations, KCPL Foundation board President Tom Heywood will discuss the importance of the upcoming library levy election to the future of libraries in Kanawha County. Rubber stamp club
The Rubberifics Rubber Stamp Club will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the South Charleston Public Library. The topic will be Copic Coloring Book. Digi-stamp images printed on Copic-marker-friendly paper will be provided for artistic practice. Coloring techniques such as establishing a light source, highlights and shading, grounding and surrounding will be discussed. Corn hole tournament
Quantum Sports Center is hosting the West Virginia cornhole state championship tournament beginning at 10 a.m. Aug. 16 on Magic Island, as part of the annual Sportsfest WV Games next weekend. There will be two divisions: open division ($75 fee per two-player team) and amateur division ($50 fee per two-player team). Open division players will compete for a cash prize; amateur division players will compete for pride and a trophy. The Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting a canning class from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 16 in the community center at Valley Park, Hurricane.
