West Virginia State Fair schedule: Saturday Aug. 9, 2014

FAIRLEA, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Fair takes place at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds in Fairlea. Gate admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger.

8 a.m.: Gates open

8 a.m.: Judging of fleece

8 a.m.: Market lamb showmanship

8 a.m.: Registered draft halter show

8 a.m.: Llama halter/conformation

8 a.m.: Cowtown

9 a.m.: Market hog skillathon

10 a.m., 6 p.m.: Horse show

10, 11 a.m., noon, 1, 2, 3, 4 p.m.: Moo U

10 a.m.: Carnival

11 a.m., 1, 3, 6 p.m.: Comedy magic show

11 a.m., 2:30 5:30 p.m.: Half Bad Bluegrass Band

11 a.m., 1, 3, 4:30, 7 p.m.: Swifty Swine

Noon, 2, 5:30 p.m.: Galaxy Girl

Noon: Market goat show

12:30, 3:30, 7 p.m.: Comedic hypnotist

2 p.m.: Judging of rabbits

2:30, 4, 6:30 p.m.: Welde’s Big Bear Show

4 p.m.: Beef showmanship

5 p.m.: Sheep shearing demo

6 p.m.: Sheep shearing contest

8 p.m.: Chris Tomlin
