Around the Internet, various “Joe Manchin for president” voices are sprouting. CBS News wrote a report about the West Virginia senator, asking: “Could there be room for rifle-brandishing moderate in a Democratic primary?” It quoted one left-winger about the Internet sites: “My first response was to type in ‘ha-ha-ha.’” But it quoted other political experts as praising the possibility of a practical, middle-of-the-road leader willing to compromise to overcome Washington’s ugly ideological gridlock.

The Lexington Herald-Leader blasted Greenbrier Resort owner Jim Justice for failure to reclaim dozens of Kentucky strip mines. It called his transgression an “in-Justice.”
