Jonathan Pryce stars in Terry Gilliam’s surrealist sci-fi film, “Brazil.”

On Friday and Saturday, step into Terry Gilliam’s surrealist vision of the future when the Clay Center screens “Brazil” as part of its Sci-Fi Film Series. The award-winning film stars Jonathan Pryce (pictured) as a low-level bureaucrat in a dismal near-future world who becomes an enemy of the state and finds his life hanging in the balance after he attempts to correct an administrative error. Robert DeNiro, Bob Hoskins and Jim Broadbent also star. Movie review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes gives it a near perfect rating, saying, “Terry Gilliam’s visionary Orwellian fantasy is an audacious dark comedy, filled with strange, imaginative visuals.” The movie is rated R for some strong violence. Screenings are at 7 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $6. Call 304-561-3570 or visit www.theclaycenter.org.
