Ruby Harris

Ruby Claire Stark Harris, 90, of Cross Lanes, departed this life Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at Angel Avenue Assisted Living, Hurricane, following a long illness. She was a loving and devoted mother who will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She was a homemaker who loved doing crafts, painting, sewing and interior decorating. She loved to read her Bible, attend church and Bible studies. Ruby was a very generous person and encouraged others to be their best. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Hurricane.

Survivors include her three children, Pamela Radford Anderson of Hurricane, Barbara Jones of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Patrick Harris of Charleston. Ruby is also survived by four grandchildren, Sara Austin of Saline, Mich., Missionary Nathan Radford of Kitale, Kenya, East Africa, Christina Reed of Hebron, Ky., and Michael Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes. The chapel service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastors Millard Mitchell and Pete Thompson officiating.
