Trail club hike
Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday in Kanawha State Forest’s Polly Hollow/Bob Ward Pathway/Connector Road/Boundary Road/Hemlock Falls areas. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at Polly Hollow. The hike is approximately 4 miles on trails with moderate terrain and grades.
Chi Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will have its Beginning Day program at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of Burma Withrow. Committee chairmen will present their plans for the year. The budget will be voted on and other activities for the year will be discussed.
Alzheimer’s professional training
The Alzheimer’s Association, West Virginia Chapter, will present a professional training, Alzheimer’s Disease: The Basics of Best Care from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Alzheimer’s Association’s Charleston office, 1601 Second Ave. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. West Virginia nursing and social work CEUs are available for professional caregivers through the CAMC Health Education and Research Institute. The training session will cover basic information about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, effective communication and addresses common behaviors and appropriate activities. Dunbar housing authority
The Dunbar Housing Authority will hold a regular Board of Commissioners meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday in their offices located at 900 Dutch Hollow Road.
