W.Va. awards community service, justice grants

By The Associated Press

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Community service and justice system programs statewide have been awarded nearly $13 million in grants from the state.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced the awards Thursday to 157 programs from the Division of Justice and Community Services.

Among the programs helped by the funding are community corrections operations; school prevention resource officers; crime victims, including domestic violence and child abuse investigations; and the enforcement of underage drinking laws.
