Man arrested for South Hills and Kanawha City burglaries
A Kanawha City man who allegedly broke into homes in Kanawha City and South Hills was arrested Monday night, police said.
Jordan Dickens, 24, is charged with two counts of burglary, according to Charleston Police Chief of Detectives Lt. Steve Cooper.
Last week, police say, Dickens broke into homes on Lower Donnally Road, in Kanawha City, and Sheraton Circle, in South Hills, and stole jewelry and electronics. The incidents occurred during the day while no one was home, according to police.
Cooper said he expected the arrest would curb the number of burglaries on the south side of Charleston.
“Mr. Dickens is suspected of other burglaries and detectives are actively investigating,” he said.
Dickens was identified with the help of LeadsOnline, a law enforcement resource that helps locate stolen property, Charleston Police Lt. Steve Cooper said Monday.
The items police say were stolen have been returned to their owners.
Dickens was also arrested last month for burglary and is a suspect in an ongoing embezzlement case, according to Cooper.
Dickens was taken to South Central Regional Jail late Monday.
