Marion County teacher investigation under review

By The Associated Press

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Two North Marion High School teachers are back in the classroom following an investigation of a class activity that drew complaints from parents.

Media outlets report that Marion County Superintendent Gary Price told the Board of Education on Tuesday that he is reviewing the investigation’s findings to determine whether he will recommend any further action.

Price says the teachers returned to the school on Tuesday.

The teachers were placed on leave last week after parents complained that their children were injured while participating in a class activity.

The parents told school officials and the school board that students were tied together during an outdoor team building exercise. They said the activity left students with scraped knees, injured ankles and grass stains on their clothes.
