Neely, Callaghan sue phonebook producer

A former state Supreme Court justice and a former congressional candidate are suing a company that produces phone books, claiming it botched their ad in its latest directory.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Kanawha Circuit Court, law partners Richard Neely and Michael Callaghan maintain that Idearc Media Corp., a Delaware firm, negligently ran an ad for Neely's former firm, Neely & Hunter, in place of the correct ad for Neely & Callaghan.

According to the Secretary of State's Web site, Verizon Directories Corp. changed its name to Idearc, which is headquartered in Texas, in 2006.

    Are you kidding me.
This is the high dollar attorney that a person is to hire/ wh o is Idearc? There not a big powerful company, they are a failing yellow Page publisher that Verizon spun off a while back.
What an absolute joke that a news paper would print this story.
Newspapers are dieing and they attack other competitors anytime they can and Idearc is a competitor.
another example of West virgina looking like idiots becasue a newspaper would even allow this article be wriiten
Being on the WV supreme court is as good as being in the Student council in 8th grade.
notice on this attorney's site there is no email. Do you have internet and will anyone ever se this

BIG DEAL. SO Verizon fouled up on one ad. There must be two or three thousand other shyster ads that they did get right. I know a lot of ball players that would like a batting average that good. I'm not taking up for Verizon I for one would like to see a directory with about 2 lbs. less of lawyer ads.

Lawyers are always the bad guys...until you need one. If Verizon made such a mistake, and they have done so with ads I have placed with them, and if the Plaintiff's can also establish damages, then they will prevail over Verizon.

I've been trying for over five years to have my name corrected in the phone directory. The bills I receive each month are sent to the right name, but I have yet to get my name corrected. I have lost a lot of personal calls due to many trying to locate my number in the listings.

This is typical abuse of the legal system and why cases that need to be put on the docket have to wait for years.

I'm glad to see someone finally taking Verizon to task over this. They've been negligent in their publication for years and have seeming little to no regard for their customer base.

With Neely's reputation for supreme arrogance, this doesn't surprise me.

Generally I have little to no use for lawyers. I have two that I would trust with my life, with the remainder being considered as "bottom feeders". These
lawyers have a case beyond comprehension. The "new"
phone book is a piece of "crap"...and I hope the mentioned lawyers get damages...PLUS interest!
