FUTURE EVENTS

  • Charleston Parks and Recreation will sponsor a movie night with "Alvin and the Chipmunks" at 6 p.m. Friday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. The center also will host the 2008 Punt, Pass and Kick Competition at 10 a.m. Saturday. Children ages 8-15 are eligible. The program is free. For information, call 348-6404.

  • St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a Fun Day Party from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the hospital's courtyard, 333 Laidley St. The event celebrates WVU's football team and includes a West Virginia Tent where WVU gifts may be purchased. A WVU autographed football will be raffled at 3 p.m. A doughnut-eating contest will be held at noon. There will be crafts, flea market items, jewelry, gift shop clearance items and more. Proceeds will be used for scholarships, hospital employees' Emergency Fund, domestic violence programs and donations to the Hospital.
