It's not too late to help a kid get to camp
Advertiser

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Although we're finished running our daily stories on the individual camps in our 2009 Send-A-Child-To-Camp program, the fund drive isn't over -- and we still have a long way to go to meet our goal.

When comparing contributions from this year against last, we found that the biggest decline is in the number of donations in the $5 to $25 range. The loss of those donors has had a serious impact, leaving us more than $11,600 below last year -- and that's after a generous donation this week from Southern Amusement Co.

We are so grateful to those who have come through for the children, and hope that in the final week of the Camp Fund, enough contributions will come in to make it possible for all scholarship requests to be met.

Remember that every dollar donated goes toward funding camp scholarships. The Gazette pays all administrative costs for operating the Camp Fund so that as many children as possible can receive assistance.

It isn't too late to make a donation. Contributions to the Camp Fund can be sent to:

The Gazette Charities, 1001 Virginia St. E., Charleston, WV 25301.
