CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Drivers paced their cars along Interstate 77 in Mercer County and officials reported many traffic accidents as the state's southeast counties were caught in a snowstorm moving east on Thursday night.
The National Weather Service predicted that by Thursday's end, areas of Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe and Summers would have up to 11 inches of snow. In higher elevations, there would be at least a foot of snow or more, meteorologists said.
