A bill before the Legislature would expand the state human rights law to protect gays from being fired from jobs or evicted from apartments, just because of their orientation. The West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists wrote to Gov. Tomblin, voicing strong objection to the bill. Apparently, Southern Baptists think that blacks, Jews, women, oldsters and other minorities deserve human rights, but gays don't.
