A 1973 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, received BAA from Glenville State College in 1977. Former WV State Senator from Harrison County. Have been an Independent Property, Casualty, Life and Health Insurance Agent and Agency owner since 1978. Owner of four Sprint Nextel Stores in West Virginia and owner of rental property. Was the Republican Nominee to U.S. Senate in 1988 and 2002.

Shelley Moore Capito

Received a bachelor's degree from Duke University and a master's degree from the University of Virginia. Serving in the U.S. House of Representatives 2000 to present; West Virginia House of Delegates 1997-2001; Education Information Center Director, 1978-1980; career counselor, West Virginia State College, 1976-1978.
Anne Barth
(D) Charleston
Earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Masters Degree in Communication from West Virginia University. Recently completed 21 years of service as a senior aide to Sen. Robert C. Byrd. Worked on four of Senator Byrd's eight campaigns. Also served as executive director of the West Virginia State Democratic Party for four years.

Graduated from Bluefield High School and Concord College with a bachelor's degree in education. Teacher and coach at William Byrd in Vinton, Va; account executive, sales manager, VP of sales and marketing, Acken Signs; president of Gearheart Men's Clothing; sales, Commonwealth Sign Co. and currently employed by Tammy Lynn Outdoor.
Nick J. Rahall
(D) Beckley
Graduate of Duke University; small businessman; first elected to Congress in 1977 and re-elected every term since.
